Newport, TN - The 2006 Tennessee AKC State Championship, hosted by the High Oaks Coon Club is now history. The High Oaks Coon Club did an outstanding job with all of the events. On Friday evening, the State Youth Bench Show was held and then the State Youth Hunt followed with very good success. On Saturday evening the State Bench Show was held with the State hunt following.
Executive Field Rep. Jimmy Phillips and I would like to say thanks to the High Oaks Coon Club, all the people that showed dogs, the hunters, and everyone that attended this fine event in order to make it such a great success. We look forward to next year.
I would also like to say thanks to State Senator Steve Southerland for attending this event. Senator Southerland went out on a cast Saturday night and from what I heard he enjoyed himself.
This year as in years past the High Oaks Coon Club will donate the proceeds from this event to the St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital. This makes this event even more special. Thanks!!!!!!!
Mike Bryant served as the Hunt Director and Bench Show Judge for the Friday and Saturday events and he did an outstanding job. Thanks Mike.
