AKC Lone Star Invitational Champions

Madisonville, TX - The AKC Lone Star Invitational Champions have been crowned! The first AKC major event to be hosted by the longstanding and prestigious Texas State Coon Hunters Association featured the crowning of the innaugural Lone Star Invitational Champions.
Winning the hunt off in an AKC Black Gold - Gold Medal event consisting of top winners within the State of Texas from all 3 registries was Randy Abke of Industry, Texas with CGN Abke's Holly, a Treeing Walker female.
The Lone Star Invitational also featured an AKC money bench show consisting of top winning Texas show hounds and the winner was Sonia Yearwood of Center, Texas with CCH Skyplott Teddy Bear, a Plott male.
The Lone Star Invitational was the first leg of a two-night AKC event, the first for the Texas group and also included the Texas State Grand Reunion on Saturday night. The Texas State Coon Hunters Association is one of the oldest and most successful coon hunting organizations in the nation.
It is a pleasure for AKC to work with this fine group of sportsmen and sports ladies.
