John Wick seminars at Youth World Hunt
5/6/2008  3:38:07 PM

Decatur, TN - Youth handlers attending the 2008 AKC Youth World Championship will be excited to learn that renowned coon hunter and author John Wick of Montgomery City, Missouri will conduct seminars on both days of the two-day event.

Wick, who will appear at the Youth World Championship courtesy of Tri-tronics, the leader in electronic dog training equipment is best known as the author of the most authoritative and respected works on the sport of coon hunting, Walk with Wick The Tree Dog Encyclopedia, Volumes I and II.

Steve Fielder will moderate the sessions which will consist both of instruction and question-and-answer opportunities in which all youth are encouraged to participate. There will also be an opportunity for the youth handlers that attend the World Championship to meet Mr. Wick personally and to take home autographed copies of his books.

Young handlers that are serious about the sport of coon hunting and want to learn from one of the sport's most noted authrities won't want to miss this opportunity. Again, seminars will be held both days.

Additional activities at the AKC Youth World Championship this year include geocaching, an exciting game in which youth will learn to use the GPS unit while finding treasures and winning prizes. Garmin representatives as well as AKC's own Andy Hartman, Director of Agility, an experienced geocaching expert, will be on hand to design the caches and to offer instruction. A shooting simulator courtesy of the Tennessee Game and Fish agency will be on hand on Saturday for all youth to enjoy as well.

Don't miss the AKC Youth World Championship. The night hunt consists of two nights, Friday and Saturday, June 27 and 28. The Youth World Championship Bench Show will be held on Saturday, June 28. See the Events Calendar online for details.

Free t-shirts and hats will be given to all youth that enter the AKC-licensed Nite Hunt and Bench Show events.

We'll see you there!
