Clark/Durman win at Bruin, PA

Bruin, PA – The Western Pennsylvania Coon and Fox Hunter’s Association broke the ice on the new AKC “Consistent Coonhound” program last Saturday night with a Poor Boy event held at the club facility in Butler County, western Pennsylvania.
Two casts of hounds went to the Ohio Valley ridges and hollows in search of AKC cast wins and both casts succeeded. Here are the winners at Bruin:
Cast One
Brookshier’s Finley River Driver
Treeing Walker male
Owner – Steve Brookshier
Handler – Jason P. Clark
Score – 500 plus
Cast Two
Buck Creek Revenge
Treeing Walker male
Owner/handler – Alex Durman
Score – 1025 plus
The scores show there’s still a lot of coon along the upper Ohio, an area that has long been known to support a strong coon population.
The Bruin club will be hosting an AKC State Youth Hunt later in the year. Watch this site as well as future issues of American Cooner magazine for details.
