2005 Virginia AKC State Championship

After a two day event, the 2005 Virginia AKC State Championship is now history. This year’s big winner was Mr. Fuzzy Spradlin of Scottsville , Virginia hunting a very good hound, Fuzzy’s Magnum, a treeing Walker male. Fuzzy won the second round 4-dog shootout on Saturday night. For Fuzzy’s winnings, he received a beautiful trophy and $ 1,000.00. This year’s final four consisted of two hounds that tied for second; Falll River Pink, owned by Michael White, $ 200.00 and Capps Ginger, owned by Elgie Capps, $ 200.00. Fourth Place went to Flint Ridge Skinner owned by Larry Mitchell, winning $ 100.00.
Dach Lairs Tribute To 3 Kings was the winner of the 2005 State Bench Show Championship. Tribute To 3 Kings is owned by Dr. David Birdsall of Glouster, Va. and was handled by Kathy Shorter. Kathy also received a beautiful trophy and a $ 461.00 cash award.
I would like to thank Shawn Ott, Ashby Nuckols, Larry Mitchell, the Monticello Coonhunters Club, and the Louisa County Coonhunters Assn., for making this year’s event a great success. I would also like to thank A.C. Nuckols, Larry Mitchell, and Ray Fletcher for judging the show and most of all thanks to all of the people that attended this event.
