2006 AKC WORLD COONHOUND CHAMPIONSHIP
KOSCIUSKO COUNTY 4-H & COMMUNITY FAIR, INC. WARSAW, IN
SEPTEMBER 25th--30th, 2006
**Hosted by the Sportsmen and Farmers Conservation Club of Silver Lake, Indiana**
The location of this year’s World Championship Hunt and Show was decided based upon many things but most of all the level of dedication and enthusiasm displayed by Silver Lake and the network of support clubs in the North Central, Indiana area. Another huge consideration was coon population. If you win casts at this year’s World Championship you will have done it by treeing real live raccoons. If you get beat it will be by a dog treeing real live raccoons. The 2006 World Hunt casts that are won on circle points, minus points and pure luck will be few and far between. BETTER BRING A COON TREE-ER!!!!
Expect a HUGE turnout and HUGE prizes at the 2006 AKC World Championship. The year 2005 opened with AKC’s exciting new coonhound program and the announcement of pro-rated cash prizes for the new 2005 World Championship. In just the first year entries increased 260% over 2004 with a purse well over $10,000! That's amazing! With the 2006 event boasting an astounding $25,000 FIRST PLACE AWARD GUARANTEED, we expect the entry levels to max out this year. With this additional increase in entries in addition to the guaranteed portion, the total 2006 purse will be astronomical. Better get that advanced entry in early!!!!

The World Hunt fairground is now covered with snow, but come September expect green trees, blue water, and lots of coons in the Warsaw area. The following photos were taken in December 2005 with several inches of snow on the ground. (Click on photo to enlarge)
The fairgrounds border the north shore of Winona Lake.
Here is another view of the beautiful lake that occupies much of the fairground acerage.
The “Home & Family Arts” building will serve as AKC headquarters.
